Tonight was our annual Ward Christmas Party, and of course, as the tradition goes, Santa made his appearance at the end of the night.
Maysie was the first one in our family to spot him. She started clapping her hands and exclaiming, "Oh, Look!" to everyone around us. As you can tell, she is super excited for Christmas this year and has totally gotten into the spirit of the holiday season and also
recruited everyone else around her with the same attitude. We waited in line so
Maysie could take her turn on the jolly old man's lap, for like 30 minutes or so. When it came to her turn, she happily climbed up on Santa's lap. Camden also had the
opportunity to sit on Santa's lap too. He wasn't into telling him his
wish list like most of the other kids but he sure did like his beard. (
Maysie was the same way her 1st Christmas too... :) )
See, Camden is running his fingers through the long beard. I think he was just testing it to see if it was real or not... :) You can also see Camden's first shiner next to his eye. Maysie pushed him off her bed earlier today... Oops. :)
This picture came out a little fuzzy, but it was the better pose out of the 2. Don't they just look so adorable upon Santa's knee. :) On the way out to the car as we were leaving, I asked
Maysie what she asked Santa to bring her Christmas morning. She told me she asked for a surprise. Well thanks kid, good thing we made a Christmas wish list earlier this month to give me some ideas or Santa may not have a very good idea of what to get with that request! :) I guess it doesn't take much to impress my child either.
